Invitations and Printed Items
What if you throw a quinceanera party and nobody comes? Fabulous invitations are one way to spread the word and get everyone excited about the big day. As you prepare for your perfect quinceanera, you'll need to select fabulous invitations and other printed items.
Invitations can be very simple, plain, and elegant, or they could be bright, alluring, and novel, it all depends upon your theme. As with every other detail of your quinceanera, you will want to be sure that the invitations match your theme. This is not to say that a simple invitation with the quinceanera's photo as a little girl and then her formal portrait wouldn't work for just about any theme, but it does help you choose which direction to take when planning your invitations.
How you get your invitations may depend upon your budget. Here are three ways you can get perfect invitations for your quinceanera:
- Select from the quinceanera invitation colors and styles offered by printers and stationery stores. These vendors usually offer plenty of sample wording in both English and Spanish. The styles can be limited in some cases, but most vendors continue to expand their selection of quinceanera invitation styles. You can order matching invitations, response cards, reception cards, and envelopes from these types of vendors.
- Design and print your own invitations. This can be a very exciting step, especially if your theme warrants or if you or a close friend have an artistic flair. But don't scratch this option off your list if you don't think you do because you might be surprised at what you can create with more imagination than talent. You can draw, paint, or make a photo collage, and copy the invitations. You can use paper crafting techniques and scrapbooking tools to create really special, truly one-of-a-kind invitations to match any theme. You don't need to create all of the invitations by hand. You can make one and then have a copy shop or printer make inexpensive copies for you. If this sounds too involved consider do-it-yourself invitation kits from office supply stores or other retailers. These kits include templates for creating your own wording and the actual blank invitations. Follow the instructions to create the invitation on your computer and then simply print on the enclosed blank invitations.
- Have an idea for something really wonderful but don't have the ability to bring it to life? Hire a graphic artist to create it for you. You can hire a professionally trained artist who makes computer-generated art to create commercial styles of printed materials including invitations. Tell the artist what you have in mind and provide him or her with all of the wording and any images you want to use (or let the artist create the images) and then wait for the artist to make an invitation that will be truly unique. Once the artist has a completed computer file, you simply send it to your printer (you can even email a copy) and get the number printed that you need on the type of paper you choose. Check with local art schools for artists that may freelance, inquire with local print shops who usually have graphic artists employed for their customers' projects, or use a freelance site to advertise your project and let artists who are interested bid on the project.
Don't limit yourself to what's been done before. Even with a small budget, your invitations, program, printed favors, and all printed items can be perfect for your quinceanera.
