Live Music for Your Quince

If it's in your budget, nothing beats a really great party band. When you choose a party band be sure to listen to a copy of tape from a recent event. Better yet, ask to attend an upcoming event so you can see how they sound, how they handle the crowd and how people respond to them.

Select a band that can play a variety of styles that will appeal to the range of people at your reception. Ask to see the band's play list and if you have any special requests, be sure to ask if the band can accommodate them.

I can't think of anything more elegant than dancing your vals to a live band. If you can arrange this, it really is spectacular. You'll need to pay the band to make a practice tape of their version of your song and then pay them for at least one live rehearsal. Dancing to a live band is quite different from dancing to a tape, but the effect is magnificent.
